Rachel Joseph received her Master in Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health, and her Bachelor of Biological Science from the University of California at Davis, where she specialized in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior.

Prior to joining PHC, Rachel worked in acute care at San Francisco General Hospital, and as a Senior Project Manager serving safety net clinics from Marin County to the Oregon border.

Rachel believes that all people deserve compassionate, high-quality care, and enjoys forming strong bonds with patients and their families.  She views primary care as a tool to advance health equity and racial justice and sees patients as powerful drivers for change in the health care system. Her roots in primary care stem from her early work with Latinx patients in Sacramento’s Central Valley.  She remains grateful for their teaching, and is honored to serve the local Spanish-speaking patient community of Sonoma County.

When she is not in clinic, Rachel enjoys exploring street art in her home town, backpacking in the Sierras, cooking food with the people she loves, and volunteering at a tattoo removal clinic for youth.
